The first step in acquiring left-right concepts is identifying one's
own body parts. Before beginning this program, the student should be
able to identify his own left and right extremities.
Goal 1: Using the Testing Option for activities A through C, select Testing Level 1. (Testing Level 2 exercises short-term memory.)Objective 1: Student will demonstrate the ability to put an object in or on the left or right hand of a person facing in the same direction by completing training activity A with 80% accuracy at Training Level 2 (feedback only). Using the Training Option, select activity A-Left and Right Hands. Set Parameter #5, Training Level to End, to 2. Set Parameter #8, Criterion to End the Lesson, to 8/10. If necessary, you can choose to have the student work solely at a lower training level initially by adjusting Parameter #5, Training Level to End, to 1 (cuing and feedback). Use Parameter #9 to select optional instruction preceding training. Objective 2: Student will demonstrate the ability to locate an object to his or her right or left by completing training activity B with 80% accuracy at Training Level 2 (feedback only). Using the Training Option, select activity B-Objects To Your Left Or Right. Set parameters the same as for Objective #1.Objective #3: Student will demonstrate the ability to move a character to an object on their right or left by completing training activity C with 80% accuracy at Training Level 2 (feedback only). Using the Training Option, select activity C- T.J. To Your Left Or Right. Set parameters the same as for Objective #1.Goal 2: Student will demonstrate the ability to identify the left and right of one object in relation to another object by completing testing of activities D through G with 80% accuracy. Using the Testing Option for activities D through G, select Testing Level 1.Objective #1: Student will demonstrate the ability to identify the object to the left or right of a line by completing training activity D with 80% accuracy at Training Level 2 (feedback only). Using the Training Option, select activity D-Object To The Left/Right Of A Line. Set Parameter #5, Training Level to End, to 2 and Parameter #8, Criterion to End the Lesson, to 8/10. If necessary, you can choose to have the student work solely at a lower training level by adjusting Parameter #5, Training Level to End, to 1 (cuing and feedback). Use Parameter #9 to select optional instruction preceding training. Objective #2:Student will demonstrate the ability to move an object to the hand on the left or right by completing training activity E with 80% accuracy at Training Level 2 (feedback only). Using the Training Option, select activity E-Hands On The Left/Right. Set parameters the same as for Objective #1.Objective #3: Student will demonstrate the ability to place a character in an object on the right or left by completing training activity F with 80% accuracy at Training Level 2 (feedback only). Using the Training Option, select activity F-T.J. In The Object On The Right/Left. Set parameters the same as for Objective #1.Objective #4: Student will demonstrate the ability to identify an object to a character's left or right by completing training activity G with 80% accuracy at Training Level 2 (feedback only). Using the Training Option, select activity G-Object To Structor's Left/Right. Set parameters the same as for Objective #1.Goal 3: Student will demonstrate the ability to identify the left and right of mirrored objects by completing testing of activities H through J with 80% accuracy. Using the Testing Option for activities H through J, select Testing Level 1.Objective #1: Student will demonstrate the ability to identify the object to the left or right of a character's mirrored image by completing training activity H with 80% accuracy at Training Level 2 (feedback only). Using the Training Option, select activity H-Object To Structor's Left/Right (Mirrored). Objective #2: Student will demonstrate the ability to move an object to the mirrored image of a right or left hand by completing training activity I with 80% accuracy at Training Level 2 (feedback only). Using the Training Option, select activity I-Left and Right Hands (Mirrored). Set parameters the same as for Objective #1.Objective #3: Student will demonstrate the ability to move an object to the right or left hand in mirrored and non-mirrored positions by completing training activity J with 80% accuracy at Training Level 2 (feedback only).
