Laureate's Goals and Objectives:
Words and Concepts Series

  Goal 1:
Student will identify 40 common nouns with 100% accuracy.   
 

Using the Testing Option, select #1-Vocabulary. Select Both Sets from the Vocabulary Menu. Select voice only from the Parameters Menu. Set Parameter #0, Picture Names, to off.
Objective 1:
Student will demonstrate auditory comprehension of the 20 nouns in Set 1 by completing training with 100% accuracy at Training Level 3 (feedback only).
Using the Training Option, select #1-Vocabulary and choose Set 1. Select voice only or voice and text from the Parameters Menu. Set Parameter #5, Training Level to End, to 3. Set Parameter #7, Criterion to End the Lesson, to 20/20. If necessary, you can choose to have the student work solely at lower training levels by adjusting Parameter #5, Training Level to End, to 1 (instruction, cuing, and feedback) or 2 (instruction and feedback).
Objective 2:
Student will demonstrate auditory comprehension of the 20 nouns in Set 2 by completing training with 100% accuracy at Training Level 3 (feedback only).
Using the Training Option, select
#1-Vocabulary and choose Set 2. Set parameters the same as for Objective #1.
Goal 2:
Student will identify 20 common nouns as belonging or not belonging to the categories Clothing, Food, Furniture, or Utensils by completing inclusion and exclusion testing with 90% accuracy.
Using the Testing Option, select #2-Categorization. Test both Inclusion and Exclusion from the Categorization Menu. Select voice only from the Parameters Menu. Set Parameter #0, Picture Names, to off.
Objective #1:
Student will demonstrate comprehension of nouns included in the four categories specified by completing inclusion training with 80% accuracy at Training Level 3 (feedback only).

Using the Training Option, select #2-Categorization and choose Inclusion. Select voice only or voice and text from the Parameters Menu. Set Parameter #5, Training Level to End, to 3. Set Parameter #7, Criterion to End the Lesson, to 18/20. If necessary, you can choose to have the student work solely at lower training levels by adjusting Parameter #5, Training Level to End, to 1 (instruction, cuing, and feedback) or 2 (instruction and feedback).

Objective #2:
Student will demonstrate comprehension of nouns excluded from the four categories specified by completing exclusion training with 80% accuracy at Training Level 3 (feedback only).
Using the Training Option, select #2-Categorization and choose Exclusion.
Set parameters the same as for Objective #2.
Goal 3:
Student will demonstrate the ability to identify words by function by completing testing on 20 basic nouns with 90% accuracy.
Using the Testing Option, select #3-Word Identification by Function. Select voice only from the Parameters Menu. Set Parameter #0, Picture Names, to off.
Objective #1:
Student will demonstrate the ability to identify 20 common nouns by function by completing training with 80% accuracy at Training Level 3 (feedback only). 
Using the Training Option, select #3-Word Identification by Function. Select voice only or voice and text from the Parameters Menu. Set Parameter #5, Training Level to End, to 3. Set Parameter #7, Criterion to End the Lesson, to 18/20. If necessary, you can choose to have the student work solely at lower training levels by adjusting Parameter #5, Training Level to End, to 1 (instruction, cuing, and feedback) or 2 (instruction and feedback).
Goal 4:
Student will demonstrate comprehension of the concept of Same/Alike by completing testing requiring gross and fine detail discrimination with 90% accuracy.
Using the Testing Option, select #5-Same/Alike. Test options 1, 2, and 3 from the Same/Alike Menu. Select voice only from the Parameters Menu. Set Parameter #0, Picture Names, to off.
Objective #1:
Given two pictures of the same noun and a third of a different noun, student will locate the two that are the same with 80% accuracy at Training Level 3 (feedback only). 
Using the Training Option, select #5-Same/Alike and choose Three Picture Word Matching. Select voice only or voice and text from the Parameters Menu. Set Parameter #5, Training Level to End, to 3. Set Parameter #7, Criterion to End the Lesson, to 18/20. If necessary, you can choose to have the student work solely at lower training levels by adjusting Parameter #5, Training Level to End, to 1 (instruction, cuing, and feedback) or 2 (instruction and feedback).
Objective #2:
Given three pictures of the same noun with small details the same on two and different on the third, student will locate the two pictures that have the same details with 80% accuracy at Training Level 3 (feedback only). 
Using the Training Option, select #5-Same/Alike and choose Three Picture Detail Matching. Set parameters the same as for Objective #1.
Objective #3:
Given a target picture of a noun, student will locate from among three additional pictures of the same noun the one that has the same details with 80% accuracy at Training Level 3 (feedback only). 
Using the Training Option, select #5-Same/Alike and choose Four Picture Detail Matching. Set parameters the same as for Objective #1.
Goal 5:
Student will demonstrate comprehension of the concept of Different by completing testing requiring gross and fine detail discrimination with 90% accuracy.
Using the Testing Option, select #6-Different. Test both options 1 and 2 from the Different Menu. Select voice only from the Parameters Menu.
Objective #1:
Given two pictures of the same noun and a third of a different noun, student will locate the one that is different with 80% accuracy at Training Level 3 (feedback only). 
Using the Training Option, select #6-Different and choose Three Picture Word Differences. Select voice only or voice and text from the Parameters Menu. Set Parameter #5, Training Level to End, to 3. Set Parameter #7, Criterion to End the Lesson, to 18/20. If necessary, you can choose to have the student work solely at lower training levels by adjusting Parameter #5, Training Level to End, to 1 (instruction, cuing, and feedback) or 2 (instruction and feedback).
Objective #2:
Given three pictures of the same noun with small details the same on two and different on the third, student will locate the picture that has different details with 80% accuracy at Training Level 3 (feedback only). 
Using the Training Option, select #6-Different and choose Three Picture Detail Differences. Set parameters the same as for Objective #1.
Goal 6:
Student will demonstrate the ability to identify words that are associated in a paradigmatic relationship by completing testing on 20 word pairs with 90% accuracy.
Using the Testing Option, select #4-Word Association. Select voice only from the Parameters Menu. Set Parameter #0, Picture Names, to off.
Objective #1:
Student will demonstrate the ability to identify 20 commonly associated noun pairs by completing training with 80% accuracy at Training Level 3 (feedback only). 

Using the Training Option, select #4-Word Association. Select voice only or voice and text from the Parameters Menu. Set Parameter #5, Training Level to End, to 3. Set Parameter #7, Criterion to End the Lesson, to 18/20. If necessary, you can choose to have the student work solely at lower training levels by adjusting parameter #5, Training Level to End, to 1 (instruction, cuing, and feedback) or 2 (instruction and feedback).
