Language Activities of Daily Living: My Town
Appropriate for Language Development Stages
late 4-7. Correlated to State Standards.
This program offers a motivating way to teach children and adults
over 100 vocabulary items found in 6 community settings: doctor's
office, dentist's office, restaurant, park, city neighborhood, and
suburban neighborhood.
You can train all of the objects in a particular setting or select
specific items to be targeted. This program is not only fun to use,
it builds functional language skills and increases independence.

Activities for Each Scene
Discover Names
Chooses an object and the computer says what it is (e.g. "This is
the stove.").
Discover Functions/Descriptions
Select an item and the computer says what the object does or gives a
description of it
(e.g. "You can use scissors to cut paper.")
Identify Names
The computer asks you to find various objects according to their
names (e.g. "Find the sidewalk.").
Identify Functions/Descriptions
You are asked to find an item based on its function or description
(e.g. "Where do you hang your clothes?").
