Grades 6-13+, Win
Which muscles make the slam-dunk possible? Incredible
graphics give users a close look at the body as it performs in
different sporting events from around the globe. Every body system
is examined in detail including the skeletal, muscular, circulatory,
respiratory, nervous, hormonal, digestive and excretory systems .
Scientific study is linked to athletes in action. Students will
learn how a synovial joint works, how the muscles work together, and
what ossification involves. The Success in Sport section utilizes
role-playing games where users are challenged to design training
programs, work the muscles, and jump over hurdles as they answer
questions. Underpinning the disc is a comprehensive database
including pictures, diagrams, video, and highly readable text.
Students can also test themselves with 300 multiple-choice questions
in the Revision Lab. For the serious student, Test Mode will track
each question, and give references to help answer the difficult
questions. Other fantastic features include a reference manual, a
web link, and printable materials for teachers.
