Overview of STAP
The Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program (STAP) is a voucher program. It provides financial assistance to Texans who have disabilities that interfere with access to the telephone networks so that they may purchase specialized assistive equipment or services. The type of devices and software available under the program are on our website in the Links section below.
Population Served
Any Texas resident, regardless of income or assets, who has difficulty accessing the telecommunication network has a right to receive from STAP a device or software appropriate to their disability.
