The Coin Abacus Worksheets were developed by PCI's Janie
Haugen-McLane to be used with the electronic Coin Abacus. These 100
reproducible, easy-to-follow worksheets were designed for students
who need extra help in learning to count coins and dollar bills.
HOW PROGRAM WORKS
Students count the money amounts on the worksheets by
sliding the realistic plastic coins and bills on the Coin
Abacus from left to right to match the bills and coins on
the worksheets. Students write the answers in an LCD-like
box above each math problem.
COIN COUNTING
Students count various coins to find a total.
BILL AND COIN COUNTING
Students count various coins and bills to find a total.
POCKET MONEY COUNTING
Students count money amounts, but the visual clues of coins and
bills on the left side of the Coin Abacus are no longer shown.
POCKET MONEY SUBTRACTION
Students count varying amounts of coins and bills, and then use the
total amount to complete a 'real-life' subtraction problem.
