Real-World Social Skills Game
Like the popular print version, this Real-World Social Skills game,
by Pat Crissey, features more everyday social situations and issues
that students encounter. Please refer to page 106 for a list of 12
topics covered in this game.
GAME PLAY
The game board is comprised of 12 circular spaces. Corresponding
draw cards match one of 12 topics. There are also several “wild
cards” included in the card stack to add an element of surprise to
the game. Each topic is covered once during game play. Students roll
the die to see who goes first. Then, the first player draws a card,
and the facilitator reads a question from the teacher guide that
pertains to the topic written on draw card. Once answered, the
student places the draw card on its corresponding space on the
board. Game play continues until each draw card is chosen or until
the teacher concludes the game.
TEACHER GUIDE
Features 40 questions for each of the 12 topics covered, plus "wild
card" questions. Questions are leveled to accommodate basic and
higher-level play. Includes alternatives to game play.
