Interactive Reading Books

The 7 step sequence begins by matching picture-to-picture and ends with reading sentences aloud. Each book has removable pictures that correspond to easy-to-read text. Students place the pictures to match story content. Developed by Joan Green, former Special Education Teacher of the Year and an expert in autism. The six books are sold individually or as a 6 book set.

I Go to School introduces activities and vocabulary of a typical school day. Action! focuses on verbs and pronouns in a who, what, where format. Things I Do at Home covers breakfast, lunch, play time, TV. and family stuff. I Have Feelings, Too! is a book of emotions for older children, teens and adults. What Happened and Why? encourages readers to make inferences about the pictures. Who’s on First? challenges the student to understand the sequence of events, like “first, next and last.”
