SwitchIt! Maker 2 Create cause-and-effect activities automatically accessible using a mouse, whiteboard, touch monitor, IntelliKeys, keyboard, or switches SwitchIt! Maker 2 will turn your text, images, movies and sounds into simple on-screen activities. Make talking books starring your pupils, or a slide show of a recent trip. Put that digital camera to good use! SwitchIt! Maker 2 is especially designed so that children can make activities as part of a lesson. Its that easy! SwitchIt! Maker 2 first asks you to choose a layout for a new page - do you want words with a picture, or just a picture? Then add an image or some video. Type in the text using your keyboard or the on-screen keyboard (great on an interactive whiteboard), then add some voiceover or load some music. Thats it! Export and import features let you transfer your activities to other computers or onto CD, etc. Also included is a freely copiable player version so students can take their activities home and a library of clip-art pictures, sample videos and music. SwitchIt! Maker 2 can be operated with 1 or 2 switches, mouse, IntelliKeys or touchscreen. New in SwitchIt! Customizable Options SwitchIt! Maker 2 has a range of easy-to-use options that allow you to tailor the activities to your students individual needs. Sort activities Select the activities you would like to be played and place them in the required order. This is useful for students to be able to work through a set of activities independently. Sound and video options Decide if you would like sound and video to be played automatically when a page is displayed, or in response to the users input. Also choose whether the user must wait for any sound or video to finish playing before they can move onto the next page. (This is very useful if the user has a habit of pressing the switch/mouse/spacebar indiscriminately.) Delay SwitchIt! Maker 2 has a useful pre-acceptance delay function. This is ideal for students who make brief involuntary switch presses which you dont want the program to recognize, for example as a result of tremor. If you set the delay to 0.5 seconds, the program will only accept switch presses that last longer than 0.5 seconds. Page number display Decide whether to have the page numbers of your activity displayed on the screen as it is being played. Color options Set the color of the text and background throughout your activities. This can be useful to create high contrast colour combinations, for students with visual impairment. It can also be useful to quickly and easily display an activity without the accompanying text, without deleting it all! Simply set the background and text to the same color. Slideshow mode Use this option if you would like your activity to run as a slideshow or a presentation, for example, in the background at a parents evening. Age Range All AgesFosters the following skills: Switch use Cause-and-effect Resource preparation Accessibility: Mouse, Trackball, Joystick Keyboard Single Switch Multiple Switches IntelliKeys Touchscreen Switch Adapted Mouse System Requirements Windows 2000, XP, Vista Macintosh OSX |
